10 July 2022
10 - 5pm
The retreat is suitable for all levels from total beginners

Mindfulness - to focus one's awareness on being fully present
Leave your worries behind and head to the country for a day designed especially for you. The past few years have been so trying for many of us with the trauma and unsettling of the global pandemic, economic instability and, the political unrest that continues to make its impact. You may feel overwhelmed with the speed of life and need time for you. Out of the chaos and set in 42 acres of Hatfield Park lies Oak House, a wellness studio with a holistic approach to health.
A day retreat filled with yoga, nature, delicious food and beautifully concluded with a sound bath. We greet the morning with a mindfulness practice of sun salutation and build on the foundations of the physical practice. We follow on from there learning about alignment and the art of mindfulness. We stop for a tasty and nutritional lunch from Mama G – the local house chef. And then, we have time for a walk exploring the surrounding landscapes at this historical location.
The afternoon session is about relaxing our body with a restorative yoga practice of deep relaxation techniques that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga before moving on to the sound bath. Martina Saorin uses Gongs and Himalayan bowls to bring the body back to its natural state of balance and harmony. Relax and let the sounds soothe your nervous system, quiet your mind, alleviate deeply held tension.
Through the sound bath you may experience a loss of body awareness and become so relaxed that you may even have dreams or feeling of elated happiness. You may even dose off which is perfectly fine, being conscious during a sounds bath is not essential. So sit back, lie down and just enjoy the vibrations of the gong as it instantly harmonizes your body’s vibrations, bringing you back into your natural balance by releasing stress caused by trauma, illness or lifestyle.
Emerge feeling a new sense of calm, serenity, refreshed and rejuvenated.
The retreat is kept small, hosting 20 guests maximum to make sure each guest can get plenty of personalised advice and attention
Appropriate for all levels.

About Bernie
I qualified as a 200 Hr Registered yoga teacher in 2015 and I had always practiced up till then but it really felt like it was my calling once my children were born. Before then, I was more inclined to run and go to the gym to release stress which included some stretching. But after 2 c sections quite close together, I felt disconnected from my body and I wanted something else, and that's when I rediscovered my practice. It was because of my teacher at the time, she really inspired and encouraged my growth.
As with many moms, I slowly felt like I was slipping into a pattern of feeling exhausted, lost and resentful.
I felt guilty for these feelings, my babies were my miracles but I just couldn't shake my self doubt, anger and resentment. Through myself study and consistent work, my state of mind shifted as my body became stronger . My practice helped me create a calmer, stronger and more grateful self. It brought me back from some dark thoughts.
We all have our own stories and I am honoured to be teaching real people and to be sharing my knowledge and passion with you.
I teach with love for movement and freedom in the body so gratitude, compassion and all the good stuff can be cultivated. Yoga mirrors our personal journey on this planet. I personally want to stay curious, have fun and never stop growing.
